THEME OF THE MONTH:
Is it September already? Where has the time gone? Well, the leaves are still green, and the weather has decided to rather forcefully make up for a rainy August, and there are still technically three weeks left of Summer. That does not deter the Autumn lovers of the world from declaring AUGTOBER to be present and accounted for. I see some yellow and tinges of orange starting to peak through the verdancy of the trees here in Brown County. How does this relate to books? Well, as any self-respecting Autumn fan will tell you, no season is complete without a jaunt to the bookstore. It's inconceivable that a Fall might come upon us and there is no visit to the hallowed stacks of a small indie bookshop. Many of our regular customers tell us that they come every year to Brown County in the fall not only to enjoy the sites that nature brings, but it is not a proper trip without a stop in to see us and find something to either take into the woods to pass the time beneath the falling leaves, or to take back home as a token to put upon the shelf. So, while it may not technically be fall yet, these three weeks of September are nothing but a preparation for what is to come. Fallen Leaf Books is here to welcome you into the season of falling leaves, and to give Summer a proper send off by escaping the oppressive heat and humidity by hiding in the bookstore and the cool crisp pages of a book. Get lost in nature, get lost in the stacks, get lost in a book.
