Very nice edition circa late 1920's to mid 1930's. 266pgs, Green boards with dark green lettering for the front board and spine. Jacket is illustrated to match the colored frontispiece, tiled 'An Old English Inn at Christmas'. Jacket flaps have the corners cut, listing other fairy tale titles printed by Grosset & Dunlap and their collection of Johanna Spyri titles. There is significant tearing to the head of the spine and and corners of the jacket, as well as soiling/staining. The book has some wear and bumping to the corners/edges. Endpapers have an illustration of a castle overlooking a village in dark blue ink. Front free endpaper has previous owner's name and gift inscription date written as 'Dec. 25, 1938'. Collectible, Very Good but As/Is.
